Please join Belladonna* at Pratt for the launch of new works by angela abiodun, Bri Nerud, Sydney Haas and Serena Chopra!

This reading, a collaboration between Pratt’s MFA in Writing and Belladonna* Collaborative initiates Belladonna’s HELP! Series, readings and writings that emerge from and support embodied and collaborative writing practices.

angela abiodun is a brooklyn and detroit based writer who loves hibiscus, mangosteen, and is presently obsessed with the daily routines of ladybugs. their present body of work explores aspects of worldbuilding through an analysis of films.

Serena Chopra is a teacher, writer, dancer, filmmaker and a visual and performance artist. She has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Denver and is a MacDowell Fellow, a Kundiman Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar. She has two books, This Human (Coconut Books 2013) and Ic (Horse Less Press 2017), as well as two films, Dogana/Chapti (Official Selection at Frameline43, Oregon Documentary Film Festival, QueerX and Seattle Queer Film Festival) and Mother Ghosting (2018). She has critical essays in Matters of Feminist Practice (Belladonna Collective, 2019), Rehearsing Racial Equity: A Critical Anthology on Anti-Racism and Repair in the Arts (Amherst College Press, forthcoming 2023) and in the republication of Judy Grahn’s The Highest Apple: Sappho and the Lesbian Poetic Tradition (Sinister Wisdom, forthcoming 2023).You can find out more at SerenaChopra.com

Sydney Haas is a Queens based writer and theatre artist originally from Seattle, Washington. She is an MFA Candidate at Pratt Institute, and you can find more of her work in Qu Literary Magazine, Horse Egg Literary, and Feed Literary Magazine. 
Bri Nerud grew up in Long Island, NY and now lives in Brooklyn with her dog Akira. When not writing, spends her time at breakdance session in a basement in Bushwick.
